Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of Benson Group, one of the UK’s leading independent printed carton producers, has risen to 43 in the PrintWeek Power 100 chart for 2012. This year’s listing was announced at a charity evening at Stationers’ Hall in central London.
Mr Kerridge’s 43rd position showed a rise of 14 places from last year’s 57th spot, the second highest riser in this years list. As PrintWeek’s write-up confirms, this is largely due to his leadership of a management buyout of the business at the end of 2011:
“The Benson Group managing director leapfrogged many of his peers in the Power 100 this year with a jump of 14 places from his 2011 ranking. His ascent is unsurprising given events of the past year, which saw Kerridge, who is married with three children, complete an MBO of the £110m company in December along with fellow director Nick Benson. Kerridge was appointed managing director in 2002 and has since overseen a series of acquisitions and technology investments that have helped to expand the Leicestershire-based firm’s capacity and product offering. Company insiders say Kerridge has a “simple growth plan” for the company going forward – which hinges on organic expansion.”
