Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of Benson Group, one of the UK’s leading printed folding carton suppliers, has been named as a Midlands region Entrepreneur Of The Year for 2014 in the Manufacturing category.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ programme is considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious business awards. It is held in more than 145 cities or regions and in more than 60 countries worldwide. In the UK, the programme starts locally in a geographic region with interviews and a regional judging panel. These are then followed by a celebration event where the winners are announced, including the overall regional Entrepreneur Of The Year. All regional winners then progress to compete at the UK finals where the eventual overall UK winner joins the other global country winners in Monte Carlo to vie for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious business award programmes in the world, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrate the UK’s most innovative business leaders. Now in its 28th year globally and 16th year in the UK, Entrepreneur Of The Year has honoured the inspirational leadership of entrepreneurs.
The award organisers describe Mark Kerridge on the Entrepreneur Of The Year web site as follows: “Demonstrating exceptional commercial acumen, Mark has led the original Benson Box company from a single site £10 million turnover family business, through private equity ownership, to a large, profitable, multi-site £100 million group, and in 2014 sold to a trade buyer, positioning the business for its next phase of growth. Mark lives by the mantra of “service, service, service” and embodied this in the culture and values of the company.”
