MPL will continue in its capacity of exclusive RMGT European Spares Distributor for Mitsubishi presses and for B1 presses manufactured by the new RMGT business, and in its role of Technical Service Management for Europe, where it provides the necessary engineers for all European press installations. In addition, the company will also continue to be responsible for the sale of new RMGT sheetfed presses in the B1 and large format ranges.

Commenting on the new contracts, Mark Stribley (above, right), Joint Managing Director of MPL, said: “We believe that this is the first time that RMGT has extended its partner contracts early, which is surely a clear indication that they are happy with the progress that we have been making on their behalf during the recent challenging times for press suppliers.”

The contracts cover significant areas such as the joint investment in expansion of the European spares operation, the support that MPL will be providing for RMGT for its Drupa programme this year, and the responsibility of the company regarding the installation of presses sold throughout Europe.

“We will be providing significant support to RMGT for the forthcoming Drupa show, including technical expertise for the commissioning, demonstration and decommissioning of the products that will feature on the company’s stand. In our wider European technical role we already have several installations booked for our team to carry out in the coming months,” added Mr Stribley.

MPL will also be supporting the manufacturer with regard to its marketing activities, extending its current programme. Murray Lock (above, left), Joint Managing Director of MPL, said: “Our focus on promoting the reliability of RMGT equipment through our Productivity Awards for presses that have not had a breakdown for over five years has been well received by the manufacturer. They are keen for us to expand this focus in order to promote this important aspect of their products.”

RMGT will be showing B1 and SRA1 litho presses, LED-UV, and digital offset equipment at the forthcoming Drupa show in Germany in hall 16, stand D24.

About M Partners

In 2010 M Partners took on the management of both sales and service for RMGT Litho Presses in the UK and Ireland. This relationship has since grown to encompass responsibility for technical service across the whole of Europe for the now re-named RMGT business. This representation joins established products such as GUK folding and inserting equipment, primarily focused towards the pharmaceutical packaging sector. More recently the business has expanded into the digital market place following an announcement regarding exclusive distribution of large format printing equipment from Korean manufacturer DGI, and an agreement to re-sell Canon equipment, with a special focus on the unique proofing capabilities of those products.

M Partners offers manufacturers considerable marketing and business expertise across both the printing and packaging sectors and provides high-quality national coverage for sales, support and technical service.

The Joint Managing Directors established M Partners Ltd in 2006 after gaining many years of industry experience in senior management roles at a major press manufacturer and used equipment dealer. They were responsible for corporate and product marketing for pre-press, press, post-press and service, plus operational control for digital, consumables and used equipment divisions.

In Web Presses on February 17, 2016 at 2:06 pm

manroland web systems from Augsburg, Germany, recorded a significant increase in profit and market share in the financial year of 2015. With a profit margin of around 3%, the printing press manufacturer’s result increases to 6.2 million euros. The market share in new press business for web offset systems grew to 45% and the solutions in digital postpress from manroland web systems have established themselves further on the market. Profitability is expected to grow even further in 2016.

manroland web systems has managed to develop its market position in a still challenging economic environment. The incoming orders taken by the company group grew by more than 10% to around 260 million euros in comparison to 2014. The global market share for new web offset printing presses is around 45% (36% previous year). The fully completed restructuring measures from 2014 as well as the improved situation in use of capacities have also had a major impact. “In 2015, the manroland web systems company group generated a positive operating result of 6.2 million Euros before interest and taxes (EBIT). An order backlog in new press business of more than 150 million euros gives reason to expect good use of factory capacities and a further increase in profitability for manroland web systems in 2016”, reports Managing Director Jörn Gossé.

Not including external personnel and trainees, as of December 31, 2015, the company had a total staff of 1,200 worldwide, 1,068 of which at the Augsburg site. manroland web systems will also be taking on all trainees and young skilled workers who are finishing training in 2016. The company is currently training 63 young people in total in various technical and commercial professions and will be offering 16 new traineeship placements starting in September 2016.

Major successes

The wide range of newspaper printing presses from manroland web systems was showcased in 2015 with the successful start-up of the COLORMAN e:line at Druckhaus Bamberg as well as the order for a CROMOMAN 4-1 placed by Namasthe Telangana in India. The need for upgrades and retrofits is unrelenting in the newspaper segment in particular, but also in commercial printing presses, proven by a press relocation and a GEOMAN reconfiguration by Fairfax Media, New Zealand. In commercial printing, LITHOMAN systems have been equipped with the new InlineCutoff Control dynamic (ICCd) at Baumann Druck, Kulmbach, Germany, for the same reason. Long-term service contracts, for example with COLORMAN e:line customer Nation Media, Kenya, confirm manroland web system’s claim to be the “best-in-class service partner”. manroland web systems has managed to secure new press orders for commercial offset printing in nearly all regions of the world. Growing demand in the USA and, in particular, the West European market is proving to be very innovative. Orders include major jobs such as four 96-page LITHOMAN presses.

Digital finishing success

manroland web systems has managed to develop its digital postpress business even further. The FoldLine and FormerLine Inline-Finishing units are taking the world by storm. One reason is manroland web system’s openness to various digital printing press manufacturers. Orders from South America, Africa, and Middle East attested to this in 2015. The workflow expertise of manroland web systems is frequently integrated into the production facilities with the WorkflowBridge and MasterQ software solutions. The production start of the FoldLine at Mengis Druck AG and Imprimerie de l’Avesnois were crucial for the newspaper industry in 2015. Swiss Mengis Druck AG consistently is first in the world to continuously print a daily newspaper digitally. Imprimerie de l’Avesnois produces various weekly newspapers in digital form in northern France to boost individualization and therefore the attractiveness of printed products.

Starting 2016 with confidence

In web offset printing, the starting point for manroland web systems is a branch environment at a stagnating level. Within this framework, the German company wants to develop its market position in newspapers and commercial web offset further and remain an innovative driver in industrial digital printing. The sector’s leading trade fair, drupa 2016 in Düsseldorf (May 31.-June 10, 2016), offers the ideal platform.

RMGT Detail Drupa Printing Press Line-Up

In Offset Presses on February 17, 2016 at 1:57 pm

Ryobi Mitsubishi Graphic Technology Ltd (RMGT) has announced details of its exhibit for the forthcoming Drupa 2016, taking place from May 31 through to June 10.

RMGT Drupa small

Ryobi and Mitsubishi Join Forces as RMGT

RMGT will feature its range of printing presses on stand D24 in hall 16 of the Düsseldorf show ground, with an exhibit taking up close to 1,000 sq. meters, under the theme IRODORI – Colouring the World Together”. The show will introduce the world to the recently combined company’s new RMGT symbol, as well as the latest range of litho and digital production equipment from the company.

Products on show will feature the new external RMGT design for the machines being produced by the combined business, which incorporates the Mitsubishi B1 format presses as well as the A1 and smaller formats for which Ryobi has become well known.

Offset Litho Presses

Leading the way for the offset litho equipment on the stand will be a RMGT 10 B1-format press: a 1,050mm machine in a six-colour configuration, capable of handling stocks from 0.04mm through to 1.00mm. The press is able to produce non-stop printing on heavy weight stocks thanks to a newly developed automatic non-stop feeder and delivery shutter. The machine will be equipped with a chamber coater, and demonstrations will also feature varnish coating using an LED-UV curing unit. A PQS inline printing quality control system will be incorporated for quality management of packaging production.

The RMGT 9 press for SRA-1 size print production will be shown as an eight-colour convertible perfecting press. The press will combine the highly reliable sheet transport system developed on the larger 1,050mm machines combined with software to ensure easy maintenance of the machine. Two LED-UV curing units will be incorporated into this configuration: one situated over the perfecting device and the other at the delivery end of the machine, enabling one-pass instant curing perfecting. The press will also be equipped with Smart-RPC fully automatic simultaneous plate changing, dramatically reducing make-ready times for job changes. PQS inline printing quality control enables the operator to monitor printing quality on both sides of the printed sheet.

Digital Offset

RMGT will also exhibit DP7, its next generation high performance B2-format liquid toner digital offset press. Press demonstrations will focus on the advantages of using digital offset to flexibly meet the need for custom print production of shorter run work.

RMGT Drupa Focus

The theme at Drupa for RMGT is based on IRODORI, a Japanese word for colour, but a word that also suggests various additional meanings relating to joy, prosperity and happiness.

Commenting on behalf of RMGT’s European management company, M Partners Ltd, Surrey, Joint Managing Director Murray Lock said: “Japanese is a most delightfully colourful language in its own right. IRODORI – Colouring the World Together” indicates the strong importance that the company gives to high-quality colour reproduction, but also the life benefits that this focus can bring.”
