Flood of RMGT South Korea Orders

With the virus now under control, the RMGT distributor for large format machines in South Korea, Sunil MS Co., has enjoyed a very lively end to 2020 and a bumper start to 2021, with an incredible SIX orders for RMGT 10 Series machines.

These consist of one 1050TP-8 (8-colour tandem perfector), two x 1050LX-6+CC+LD, one 1050LX-7+CC+LD, and two x 1020ST- 5. And all these orders have been secured as the country begins to bounce back from the Covid-19 period, with printers now beginning to see a significant rise in demand from customers.

The success of Sunil MS Co. can be summarised under two headings: market needs, and, of course, excellent marketing and sales.

Market Needs

With recent amendments to the Korean Labour Act, employees will now be able to work up to 52 hours a week as of July 2021. This will combine with an increased minimum wage. Such adjustments are leading businesses, including printers, to look for ways to increase productivity and decrease labour costs where possible. In other words, more automation and less employees.

The RMGT 1050TP is one ideal solution for this. It has been proven to be 2.8 times more productive than a straight press, along with a saving of one employee. Surely a very simple decision!

A total of three RMGT TP presses are already due to be installed in South Korea during 2021, along with a number of additional ongoing projects likely to follow.

For efficient packaging production, the RMGT 1050LX is the preferred model, with several market leading suppliers already using such equipment. It has gained a solid reputation for stability and reliability, along with cost effectiveness. Again, three installations are already in the diary for 2021, with several other projects currently awaiting final decisions.

Sales and Marketing

Whilst the Covid-19 situation had hampered work for many companies, Sunil MS Co. have continued to focus on a structured sales approach for the business, along with having service technicians available during the pandemic in the unlikely event of press malfunctions. With the virus now under control the company is now seeing an unprecedented demand for new equipment.

The company has continued with its generous policy regarding trade-ins, as well as providing support to arrange finance for customers, and the availability of support personnel for installation and training. They have also been keen to take up the RMGT offer of VIP trips to Japan and the company factory and headquarters, as and when restrictions allow. Such trips have often contributed positively to customer decision making.

New Customers

Some of the customers that included in this latest batch of orders are detailed here:

Messrs. Jeon Kwang Printing & Information Co. Ltd already had two existing B1 presses from Mitsubishi and more recently RMGT. They had the opportunity to monitor a nearby printing company’s recently installed RMGT Tandem Perfector (TP) and found that productivity of the machine was some 2.8 to 3 times more than a straight press configuration. There were also material savings and better print quality to be enjoyed as well. This was more than sufficient for Mr Su-Gon So, President and CEO of the printing company, to conclude a deal for the RMGT 1050TP-8 on December 31st 2020. Mr Su-Gon So is also the President of the Korean Printing Association, so the whole industry is keeping a keen eye on the purchase of Jeon Kwang P&I. As the supplier, RMGT is looking forward to the attention, and the possibility of further orders from Korea.

Messrs. AD Sharp Company Co. Ltd has ordered an RMGT 1050+X-6+CC+LD. The design, brand identity, packaging, and advertisement company is already looking forward to being able to develop new print products in-house for its packaging customers.

Messrs. HD & Teck Co. Ltd have ordered the RMGT 1050LX-6+CC+LD for the production of high-quality food packaging and sanitised products. Having been a user of a German manufactured presses, they were impressed by the superior performance of the RMGT press on demonstration. The company has three factories in Korea and one in China.

Sunil MS look forward to announcing more orders during the course of 2021, and are already expecting a bumper year.
